| Our Aims
Purpose
The purpose of the CMML Flight Service is to speed the
spread of the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ in Word
and deed, through aviation. It is our aim to assist the
medical work, evangelistic outreaches, school work, and
the travel needs of missionaries and short term workers.
We are a support ministry to those who are at the
forefront of various aspects of the work of the Lord in
Zambia.
The Flight Service has
improved communication immensely and strengthened
coordination between the various mission institutions,
particularly in rural areas. On several occasions, lives
have been saved by transporting seriously ill patients to
hospital and/or between hospitals for emergency surgery
and more extensive treatment. In so doing the CMML Flight
Service has been able to link up in Lusaka with Medical
Rescue International from Johannesburg, when necessary to
take advantage of emergency treatment in South Africa.
Use of the plane has saved
an immense amount of missionary time in transporting
missionary children to and from Sakeji, Amano and
Chengelo
schools and in meeting the international flights going to
Rift Valley Academy in Kenya. Otherwise this would involve
days of motoring on torturous roads. By connecting with
international flights, the Flight Service facilitates
those serving the Lord to travel to and from remote areas
of this country, Zambia.
Our Aims are:
- To allow missionaries and other personnel to move
swiftly to and from their places of work.
- To enable short-term workers and visitors to maximize
their time in the field.
- To provide a medical emergency service for all.
- To help with the transportation of children to and from
school.
- To provide subsidy systems which will enable as many as
possible to benefit from the flights.
- To have an aircraft hangar with full maintenance
facilities and a qualified aircraft mechanic.
- To provide ground transportation in Lusaka for pilot and
passengers
- To provide accommodation in Lusaka for pilot, passengers
and for CMML missionaries and others who travel through
Lusaka by air or road.
- To do services for those who do not get to Lusaka such as
purchasing, visiting government offices etc.
- To use the Flight Service and facilities in whatever
way we can to further the Mission work in Zambia.
