Projects
Below are some of our current
projects:
-
Rebuild
project of our new to us Cessna 182:
We
thank the Lord we were able to purchased a used C-182
in Zambia, Feb 2008. This saved us paying duty and
VAT importing a plane. It
needed a lot of work to bring it up to standard.
It's engine was near the end of it's life so a new larger one
has been installed. We replaced the 2 blade
propeller with a new 3 blade one. The rebuild of the aircraft continues and more news can be found under the
"News Flash"

5th Engine
replacement project for our Cessna 207:
The last engine change
was in Nov/Dec 2006. Since we are a licensed AMO, we are
able to do the engine changes at Kalene. The current engine has logged almost
1350 hours. 1600 is
the mandatory overhaul time stated by the manufacturer and
required by the Zambian DCA (Department of Civil Aviation).
An inspection of other major items is
needed. This involves
replacement or overhaul of certain aircraft components, i.e. the
turbo charger, nose gear, propeller, etc., thorough inspection, and replacement of parts.
The new engine was shipped from
Canada on the ACCTS container which left the end of October
2009. Lord willing, it should arrive in Zambia in early
2010.

Vehicle Project - Old
Flight Service Vehicle at Kalene
"For
11 years and over 176,000 kilometers, I have served the
Lord faithfully, until now. In the last days, I've been
getting slower and slower. Rarely could I get going over
50 km/hr. (31 mph). But that didn't matter. Considering
the bumpy, pothole infested roads here, I didn't want to
go faster than that anyway. But it seems the road finally
did me in. I'm up on blocks now, waiting for new spares to
arrive. It's been almost a year, and still not all my
parts have come. Being from a different tribe than most of
the other vehicles here in Zambia, it is very difficult to
get parts and very expensive for my owners. Pray that I
may get up and running again soon, or that someone else
may replace me, so that I can retire. It's been a hard
life, but I'm thankful that I could do it for the
Lord."
