The Zengamina Hydro Project

Beginning with candle light and paraffin/ kerosene lamps, the Mission eventually got a diesel generator. Time went on, and as the station and hospital grew in size, so did the demand for more electric power. The current need for power has reached a point where it is costing a small fortune to keep operating. We thank the Lord, that now after 100 years; Kalene Mission will soon be receiving Hydro-electric power. This should be a tremendous benefit to the hospital and mission and Flight Service. Presently the turbine and generator are being installed and we hope they will be turning the switch on by early/ mid-2007.
