As pilots, we experience many emotions in our work; tears of joy or of sadness.  We have witnessed the joy our passengers feel when they arrive back to their mission of work, to see their fellow workers again and the local people to whom they have given their lives for.  Often the Zambian people come out in crowds, surrounding the plane to see that their missionary has returned.  It’s a time of jubilation with singing and clapping.  At other times, it is with tears of sadness as they must leave for a time of separation.  Many parents and school children experience this when we fly the kids away to boarding school.  But there is great joy when they see each other again for term break.  Sometimes we fly patients who are seriously ill.  There is much joy and thankfulness when they recover are flown back to their home area.  However sometimes they do not make it, which brings sorry and mourning.  But we know, that it will be a day of rejoicing when we see our Lord face to face, and our loved ones, who has gone on before us.
