Our Name

CMML Flight Service

CMML Flight Service can be a misleading name. The emphasis on our name should be on the word "Service", as we are not just involved in flying. We believe that the Lord has enabled the Flight Service to develop an integrated service ministry in Zambia which particularly benefits those serving with CMML Christian Brethren in Zambia and other associated evangelical mission personnel. It not only provides a flight option to assist busy missionaries with rapid and safe transport, and the comfortable movement of medical patients, but also the availability of administrative services and accommodation in the capital of Zambia, Lusaka. This meets a particular need in CMML, as we have no mission personnel presently based in Lusaka. You will see under the section "Services", that there are many other ways in which we serve God's servants.

C.M.M.L. (Christian Missions in Many Lands) is a service organization to Missionaries from North America sent out from their home assemblies. There are approximately 747 missionaries with CMML/MSC worldwide.

Christian Missions In Many Lands, Inc.
http://www.cmmlusa.org  was established in 1921 as a non-profit, faith-based missionary service organization to serve missionaries commended by local assemblies gathering to the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, sometimes known as Plymouth brethren. These local assemblies are autonomous without any central committee or headquarters. Based on New Testament principles, missionaries are called by the Lord, commended by their local assembly and look to the Lord alone for direction and the supply of their financial needs.

Many missionaries come from other parts of the world, through similar organizations that are affiliated with CMML, such as MSC (Missionary Service Committee) in Canada, Echoes of Service in the UK, Interlink in Scotland, Tidings in Australia, etc…  Worldwide, the total is approximately 1500 missionaries. CMML Flight Service gets its name from serving the CMML missionaries here in Zambia, but is not considered a part of CMML - United States. However, we are closely associated with them as we use the same name that our mission in Zambia is registered by.

CMML Mission in Zambia
CMML, the second largest mission and health care provider in Zambia, is located in rural areas of the North Western, Luapula and Copperbelt Provinces. It is linked internationally to non-denominational assemblies of Christians sometimes known as the Plymouth brethren, which are spread throughout the world. In Zambia we have over 1000 local assemblies, both rural and urban. The assemblies in Zambia were registered with the Government as "CMML" or "Christian Brethren".
Our rural activities as a Mission are based at 13 centers, most of which include a hospital or Rural Health Center, and Bible teaching.

CMML Missions are fully committed to the medical work and currently run 5 hospitals, 2 rural health centers and many small clinics, in full co-operation with the Ministry of Health. They also accept the responsibility for educational and primary health care activities. A major commitment is being carried out in the field of AIDS counseling, education and awareness in addition to treatment.

A large mission press at Musenga (near Chingola) prints Christian literature and books in twenty-five languages for South/Central Africa.

The training of leaders for our many local assemblies is carried out in all mission centers, but particularly at two residential Bible Schools, at one of which there is a trade skills training center at Nyangombe.

Sakeji Mission School was started as a school for assembly missionary children and is now directed by a Board of Governors, consisting of CMML missionaries within Zambia. It provides a high quality, boarding, primary level education for the children of missionaries and others. It accepts non-mission expatriates and Zambians. At Mambilima the mission has one of the few boarding schools in the country for physically handicapped children.
